are you 99% that the person has it, 50% certain? hopefully one of the answers that will come out of the trials. >> i'm thinking about the ballplayers, too, because sometimes a young football player gets hit, they say oh, it's a mild concussion and he gets back on the field and hit again. if they have definite information it could save a lot of pain and suffering, as well. >> yes. >> thank you, sharon chin in palo alto. well, sunnyvale police officers trying to serve a warrant at a storage facility were nearly run over by the suspect. the officers approached the man who got into his car and drove it out of the gate trying to run over the officers. those officers by the way were not hurt but they got in their patrol car and chased the driver. >> within about a mile, the vehicle was disabled from two flat tires and the suspect had given up. >> the driver was arrested. a passenger escaped into the neighborhood but officers tracked him down and he was arrested as well. new details about the santa clara officer facing charges of felony conspiracy. officer clay rojas is accused of passing confidential information to a maine hells angels. mark sayre on the evidence against rojas. >> it's a difficult day for our department. it's a difficult day for our profession. >> reporter: he says 36-year- old clay rojas worked in a specialized unit investigating felony crimes. the chief say this investigation began when this man 38-year-old william bettencourt of santa cruz county was arrested in an unrelated case. he is a member of the hells angels. he was in possession of confidential dmv data allegedly obtained by officer rojas. >> during this short two-week investigation, we learned that he had passed along some confidential information that he had accessed through some computers at the police department. >> reporter: the chief says that data would typically contain names, addresses and social security numbers but it is for law enforcement use only. >> we are very clear on what the rules are so when you can access those databases and for what purposes, this was just a clear violation. >> reporter: as for motive? >> that's one of the questions we are looking at. what was his motive? what was his true relationship between himself and william bettencourt? >> reporter: officer rojas came to the santa clara police department from the san jose police department, where he was one of several officers involved in a use of force case a decade ago where a suspect died while being arrested. but he has had no troubles recently. >> he came to us as a veteran officer. he was doing well in the department. this comes really as a shock to all of us. >> reporter: officer rojas was booked into the santa clara county jail but has since been released on bail. in santa clara, i'm mark sayre, cbs 5. san francisco police say they are looking for two men who attacked a young couple back in august. the couple was on their second date, up at coit tower at night when a man approached them. the suspect yelled expletives at the two before punching the man in the jaw with brass knuckles. when the woman tried intervene, she was attacked by a second suspect who stole her purse. the second man is described as light skinned, black, 6'1", 200 pounds, tatoos on his upper left arm. tourists say despite the attack, they are not concerned for their safety. >> i'm feeling safe here. so i feel safe. >> the second suspect described as african-american, 5'6", what's 130 pounds, has close shaved hair. a rash of church thefts in san francisco and thieves have targeted about half dozen churches between mid-august and september. most of them took place in the city's southwestern neighborhoods. police say one person may be responsible for the thefts at a few of those churches. church leaders say even though this is obviously not right, they can understand why some people are desperate to steal from a church. >> a lot of churches are suffering because of the economy hitting them, too. >> church leaders say most churches lack security. sometimes volunteers and staff simply forget to even lock the doors. so they are hoping they can get enough donations to install security systems in the future. the emergency repairs on the san mateo bridge will continue through the weekend now. caltrans crews did work yesterday and today. they are trying to fix this 10" crack that's in a beam under the road. the work did close one section of a westbound lane causing backups during the morning commutes. workers bolted two steel plates to the top and bottom of the beam trying to stop the crack from getting any worse. caltrans says this should be a final fix for the problem and say all westbound lanes should be open for monday's commute. groundbreaking today at the oakland airport where a new air traffic control tower is going up. the new 36-foot tower will be on top of a 13,000-square-foot building. the new tower will replace two older towers that face north and south over the air field. the lower building will house the airport statute the entire project will have the latest they say in all the airport's technology. >> able to see the entire airport operations area from that new tower. the new tower is going to feature state-of-the-art communications, navigation and other equipment deeded to keep pace with the demands that are constantly evolving aviation systems. >> the project will cost $33 million. it's going to be funded with federal stimulus dollars. he is accused of snatching a woman's purse and driving away while she clung onto the car. the suspect here, a california mayor. one of the biggest threats to national security may not be what you think. why it could be found right at your dinner table. this is a great denim. >> tired of having your designer denims fade? recording. so far police have not found the man to tried to steal it. the mayor of a southern california city is out on $100,000 bail, out of jail. he was arrested after authorities said he stole a purse and then took a wild ride with the alleged victim clinging to his car. 35-year-old albert wang is the mayor of san gabriel. now, police say he was arguing with a woman in this parking lot over money. authorities say that he grabbed her bag and then took off in her car. she was standing on the running board hanging on to the rear view mirror while the car was going about 45 miles an hour. and some windex or 409. >> there is a really low concentration of bleach in those things and i find it's kind of perfect and also brightens the indigo a little bit? >> reporter: then hang your jeans in the bathroom while you take a shower. he says the steam will freshen them up. but for a more thorough cleaning, stay in the bathroom and use the tub. his recipe, two tablespoons of a mild organic liquid soap in six inches of room temperature water and a tiny bit of white vinegar to set the indigo and keep it from fading. now soak for 20 minutes, and hang dry. above all, never put them in the dryer. >> you're getting a lot of abrasion and heat. that's where you get the color loss. >> if you must use a washing machine, chiara says turn your jeans inside out. use cold water and again line dry. but be careful, your jeans will look good long after they have gone out of style. >> the less we put them in the dryers and washing machines, the longer they are going to last. >> reporter: may sound gross but chiara says again only once every six months if you wash these and don't send them to the dry cleaner. he doesn't like the chemicals there. also, you should avoid ironing because that
