to figure out what caused her to lose control and slam into a tree. it happens north of route 197 in laurel, where lanes were closed for more than four hours today. this was tracee wilkins in laurels. >> reporter: the bw parkway closed down in both directions between 197 and 198 for most of the morning, as police investigated the single-car crash. around 3:20 this morning, u.s. park police say a woman heading northbound on the baltimore washington parkway left the roadway, landing in the median. >> the vehicle left the roadway, went into the median strip, struck a tree, and one person in the vehicle, the driver, was killed. >> reporter: u.s. park police shut the baltimore-washington parkway down in both directions between 197 and 198 as they investigated the scene. police say the victim of the accident was an adult female. the impact of the crash was so severe, that the engine of her vehicle was suspended from the car, as police pulled it out of the median. and now, the next phase of this investigation begins. >> this is a complicated investigation, as all fatal crashes are. it's so it's going to take a while before we determine the actual factors that led to this crash. it's going to require autopsy reports, completion of the crash reconstruction report and interviews by our detectives. >> reporter: police say it may be some time before they know exactly what led to this at the jefferson memorial. now a formal inquiry is under way after some say the officers' action was inappropriate. the dancers were protesting a court ruling that upheld a ban on expressive dancing driveway. in the process, the suspect set himself on fire, and was last seen running down 12th street. police say they're in the process of collecting with area hospitals and doctors to see if the use a beef vienna hot dog and add not one topping but we add seven different toppings. >> we've got beautiful examples of your hot dogs out there. as we look at those, why don't you show me how to make a good one. >> as we said we have seven different ingredients. we take a steamed poppy seed bun. >> steam it? >> steam it. >> don't put it in the oven or the grill, steam it because got to get moisture in there? >> get the heat in there nice and soft. and we would steam it, put the beef on a hot dog which we'll start here. our first ingredient is mustard. >> i'm going to hold this up so folks can see it as you do. a nice stream of mustard. >> mustard and then we go to relish. >> i happen to like that but not everybody does. >> then add onion. >> onion on a chicago hot dog. the hot dog has taken a lot of abuse over the past few years with people saying they're not good for you, full of snakes and snails and puppy dog tails and everything else. you say you actually can buy a really good piece of meat in a hot dog, right? >> absolutely. they're very good in protein and iron, and the hot dog that we use are the highest quality, vienna beef hot dogs. >> all beef is bet. >> all beef is best taste. we've added tomatoes, pickles, scored peppers. >> what kind of pickle. >> kosher dill pickle. >> hot peppers gives it a little heat. we'll finish it off with celery salt. >> that's the secret ingredient. >> these ingredients together compliment each other in taste and appearance to make a delicious hot dog. >> the celery salt is the secret. >> all serve. ingredients are part of the key. >> i see you have a bunch of them. people have been smelling them as you cook. you have some that have cheese and chile. that is part of the chicago experience, too? >> yeah. our primarily seller is the chicago-style hot dog. we have a foot-long version. over there we have our specialty dogs which are chile, we also have a sauerkraut dog. we have a polish sausage with grilled onions and up the top we have a veggie version. >> wow. these would have onions. when they -- you would suggest i guess if you're serving hot dogs today for memorial day put out everything, let folks do it their own way? >> absolutely. the more, the bet. >> where can you find it. >> 14th and u, quickly expanding throughout the d.c. capital area. we hope to be somewhere around -- close to 100,000 hot dogs this year. >> wow, 100,000. >> our goal's a million in the short term. >> we appreciate you coming in. hot dogs are in again? >> absolutely are. >> i guess they were never out, but some [ male announcer ] mach tower. heart racing. jaw dropping. coming soon to busch gardens williamsburg. this sum, gas prices could reach $5 a gallon in some areas. prediction, oil $135 a barrel and service stations will raise fuel prices to $5 a gallen in some areas. but prices at the pump dropped ten cents a gallon over the past weekend. aaa reports the national average is $3.79 for regular, average in the district $4.06. 3.82 in maryland, 3.84 in west virginia. the incomparable hoofer maurice heinz and his brother gregory brought tap dance back to the american consciousness a few decades back and even then people thought it was a lost art, something we would only see again in the reprisal of old musicals. but it's back. thi thanks to the discovery of two brothers, the new era of tap may be taking center stage. john and leo were a big hit in "sophisticated ladies" last year in washington and some talk of trying to bring it back, not just for maurice heinz but you were such big stars. welcome. what are you up to? you're away in college, right? >> yes. i just got off of my first semester at mary mount manhattan and he's in high school. >> where do you go to high school? the field school. >> how were you discovered for the show, "sophisticated ladies"? >> through the grapevine, we'll say. >> my best friend, jay cat, also a film director, his mom told my mom about maurice heinz coming and teaching a class at duke ellington and -- >> at the duke ellington school. >> is that where you were -- where you learned to tap dance? where did you learn to dance? >> we did a lot of competitions when we were younger so we were at competition studios. our teacher's from new york. >> i see. did you realize then when you started tap dancing this was considered a lost art and you might be getting into something that wasn't so popular? >> no. i think we -- we've been dancing all of our lives but we didn't try to take tap until the next level until we met the teacher and at that point we enjoyed it. >> do we have a picture of them dancing at show "sophisticated ladies"? i think we might have tape of that. we have it better than that, we've got them here. why don't you show us a little bit. show us how to do it. >> five, six, i'll go first. >> last one. then we'll cut it off. >> wow. that was improvised? >> yeah. >> that is not something that you've done on the stage before, pla that particular one? >> no. >> do you have anybody who you just admire who is dancing -- whose dancing you want to be like. >> personally i'm into the rhythms and jason samuel smiths a big person. also jason janis and obviously older cats like maurice gregory. >> even further back, like bo jangles, john w. bubbles, the nicholas brothers, there's so many. >> what are the chances that we'll see you on the stage at the lincoln theater again this summer?
