In this week’s article, we examine the recent case of VBR Tours, LLC [VBR] v. National Railroad Passenger Corp. [Amtrak] and Yankee Leisure Group, Inc. [Yankee], 2015 WL 5693735 (N.D. Ill. 2015) in which VBR, a tour operator, sued Amtrak and Yankee, a competing tour operator, alleging, inter alia, “a conspiracy to attempt to monopolize the travel package market (and) enter(ing) into a combination, contract and conspiracy”, all in violation of the Sherman Antitrust Act and the Illinois Antitrust Act.
