the motive behind the attack. that was the case with the newtown massacre in 2012. the charleston shooting. the shooting of coeds at u.c. santa barbara. the orlando nightclub shooting. the workplace massacre in san bernardino. in each of those cases, within 48 hours, we had social media profiles of the alleged killers, or information from relatives or cowork bears their state of mind. that's not the case with stephen paddock who from what law enforcement told us so far had no social media profile. he either took measures to scrub it or never had any in the first place. the only information we have are his age, 64, he seemed to be well off, owned more than one property, one home and owned a lot of guns. the only people to come forward so far have been his brother, who expressed complete consternation, and the l.a. times reported today the supervisor of a local starbucks noticed that paddock would often berate his girlfriend in front of them. again, nothing so far in terms of a motive for the mass shooting.
