singleton are asking your help to find the man that drove away after a hit and run accident. >> and what some die hard 49er fans are willing to shell out to take the super bowl trip with them. >> you can't put a price on victory. >> and tomorrow we'll get well hit with rain. another storm on the way and another one after that. the details in the forecast. now at 11:00 and streaming on cbsn bay area, breaking news in contra costa county where police are still looking for a gunman involved in a shooting near the bart station. police closed off the area around park side drive and riveria avenue for their investigation. no word on suspects or the condition of the victim. also tonight a family's emotional plea for justice for the mother killed by a hit and run driver. i'm ken bastida. >> and i'm juliette goodrich. andrea nakano is live with the break that has police closing in on a suspect. >> reporter: it was 4 days ago when the mother of 7 was struck and killed many this intersection behind me. tonight the family teamed up with the oakland police department in hopes of finding the man that just drove away. >> stop the car! >> reporter: you can hear the anguish and pain in the man's voice. he's the husband of the victim and they had 7 children together. tonight he returned to the accident site, carrying intense anger after losing his wife in a fatal hit and run accident last friday. he's vowing to make it his mission to make 98th avenue safer. >> slow down! >> reporter: the husband says myesha had picked up her child and was trying to run back to school to use the restroom. her kids range in age from 3 to 22, and the grieving family is making a tearful plea. >> we need justice. we need it. we need it. >> reporter: the kl dement sa il could get their wish soon. through community tips they found the white nissan maxima involved in the crash today. it wasn't reported stolen, and they're collecting dna evidence and surveillance video to match the driver with the car. >> we're asking to driver to do the right thing, and turn yourself in. >> reporter: the councilwoman knew the victim from working together on countless projects and said she was a loving mother and friend. >> we want myesha's memory to be cherished and love, and we want someone reckless to be off the streets so no other families suffer like this. >> reporter: the car was found in oakland, and investigators say the driver may still be in the area. if you have any information, contact the oakland police department. in oak, no,x 5.a police chase in berkeley took a deadly turn as well when the suspected driver hit and killed a woman on the sidewalk. kpix 5's betty yu on the hunt for that suspect and the cry for help that started it all. >> reporter: tonight university avenue is back open after being closed for several hours for this investigation. but police are still searching for that hit and run driver and his car. tonight a crime scene clean up crew scrubbed the sidewalk where earlier today a woman lost her life. a few feet away on university, a fresh tire track shows where the hit and run driver ended up before taking off on i-80. >> the suspect's vehicle is a dark gray four-door sedan, last seen going eastbound on 80. >> reporter: tonight berkeley police are looking for a gray four-door sedan. >> police were in pursuit of the subject who then struck the pedestrian. >> reporter: before the driver hit and killed a pedestrian, the car was parked on 6th street. around 10:30 this morning, a campus police officer driving by heard a woman in the car screaming for help. >> it's very possible that it's domestic violence, but we certainly don't want to rule out other things. it could be something much worse. was this person being kidnapped, was this person a victim of human trafficking? >> reporter: the officer didn't get a chance to find out. as he approached, the driver fled, made a u-turn, then another one before driving onto the sidewalk and striking the pedestrian. the name of the female victim has not yet been released. >> it is unusual. i have not seen anything, i've been walking here for a year and a half, daytime, night time, never seen a problem. >> ordinarily it's a super busy intersection. it is a holiday today. we know there were people in the area and some people called in to provide tips to us, so we hope the tips continue. >> reporter: police have not released a description of the driver or woman inside the car. and police are looking for any surveillance video and dash cam video from the public that could help them in this investigation. in berkeley, betty yu, kpix 5. looking live toward the bay bridge, dry tonight, but tomorrow's commute could be a soggy one. meteorologist brian hackney is tracking showers headed our way. >> especially up in the north bay where the rain is first going to unwind. tonight nice, calm, clear, and tomorrow cloudy, wet, and a little bit windy too. high def doppler shows there was some rain south of the bay area earlier today. not in the immediate bay area where the high def doppler is picking up nothing at the moment. that is going to change because of that. low pressure that's off of washington state means that north bay showers will spread south, be cool. winds pick up to about 25 miles per hour with the frontal passage which happens in the north bay at about 10:00 in the morning and the rest of the bay area later in the day. we'll get the timing down on all of this when we cover the forecast in just a few minutes. all right, brian, thanks. tune in tomorrow morning starting at 4:30. mary and gianna will track the rain and its impact on your commute. you can see it everywhere. the bay area showing its 49er pride. here's the golden gate bridge all lit up in red and gold tonight. mostly red. and it's the golden ticket that fans are dreaming of tonight. so what will it take to actually see the ninners in person facing off against the chiefs in the super bowl?
