I don’t understand why Canadian news agencies are putting the spotlight on snowbirds, with regards to the new hotel quarantine restrictions. Snowbirds are travelling because they have money. What about those travelling for essential reasons?
I’m a student, and I need to go to the United States next month to write a standardized test that will allow me to study abroad. I don’t have $2,000 to spend on a hotel quarantine. Does the Canadian government expect me to put my future on hold for its badly executed restrictions? Maybe I should forsake my studies entirely? The federal government needs to outline some exemptions soon because, right now, this hotel quarantine is going to hurt more than help.
