Without Klay Thompson, Andre Iguodala and Shaun Livingston, Curry must navigate a barrage of double- and triple-teams, all while shouldering more defensive responsibility. Yet, most national pundits don’t even have him in the MVP conversation. NBA.com recently put Curry tied for ninth with Portland’s Damian Lillard on its MVP leader board. Basketball-reference.com, which ranks MVP candidates based on a model built using previous voting results, doesn’t have Curry among the top-10.
