However, farmers have no right to become a superspreader event during a global pandemic whose effect is being felt in the world’s most populous democracy. Protest does not mean a mass invasion of India’s capital city on Republic Day when permission has only been given to take out a tractor-rally on scheduled routes. Protest does not mean blocking the highways to Delhi for days, weeks, months. Again, in all the innumerable telecasts of the protest on various news-channels, the leaders of the movement like the Bharatiya Kisan Union’s Rakesh Tikait were not seen wearing masks even when surrounded by their followers.
