'Crescendo On Wisconsin' Seeks Help for Struggling Entertainment Industry Workers | 105.7 WAPL

Crescendo On Wisconsin, a statewide campaign committed to helping struggling Entertainment Industry workers stay safely in their homes by providing emergency energy and rental assistance during these difficult times.
The entertainment and hospitality industry has been one of the sectors hit hardest by the COVID-19 pandemic. Across the country, indoor music venues have faced capacity limitations making it impossible to remain open, while outdoor music events with large gatherings of people were canceled in an effort to curb the spread of the infectious disease.
Drastically reduced performance opportunities brought the industry to a screeching halt.
The Crescendo On Wisconsin Campaign is reaching out to provide a hand up by assisting entertainment industry workers (artists, musicians, stage and sound crew, venue workers, etc.) with obtaining much-needed financial assistance for keeping a roof over their heads or their heat and power on.

A water official from Las Vegas is urging state legislators to pass a law that would ban ornamental grass that nobody walks on. This includes grassy areas in office parks and housing communities and the grass that fills roadway medians.
Southern Nevada Water Authority public service director
Andy Belanger wants to see that grass removed by December 2026.
"SNWA's Andy Belanger: We're asking the legislature to consider legislation to require the removal of unused turf throughout the LV Valley by Dec. 2026. What's unused turf? It's grass that never gets stepped on except when it's mowed," the SNWA tweeted.

Regeneron announced that the results of a Phase 3 clinical trial show that its antibody cocktail helps prevent symptomatic COVID-19 infections. The company said that the drug, named REGEN-COV, reduced the risk of symptomatic infections by 81%.
The drug cocktail was granted an emergency use authorization by the Food and Drug Administration to treat high-risk, non-hospitalized patients with mild to moderate symptoms of COVID-19. That treatment was only approved to be given intravenously.
"COVID-19 transmission often occurs via infected people who do not yet have symptoms, so it is critical that we rapidly diagnose and treat these individuals for their own health and to prevent transmission," said

Bare Bones Brewery in Oshkosh is about to release one of the strongest beers ever made by one of the city’s breweries if not the entire state.
This Friday April 2nd,
Inoculator 24.8 will be available in their taproom on a limited basis as part of the brewery’s
Unleashed series of experimental beers.  The number stands for the alcohol content of the beer (24.8% ABV, or “alcohol by volume) which at that level is uncommon for a normal beer.  To put it in perspective, most of the higher-alcohol stouts available are 10-12% ABV on average while a Bud Light clocks in at 4.2% ABV.  Due to the limited availability and high alcohol content,

Led Zeppelin's 'Presence' is 45 Today and Ultimate Classic Rock Has a Track by Track Guide | 105.7 WAPL

Released on March 31, 1976 Led Zeppelin’s 7th studio album
Presence was the fastest album Zeppelin had done since their first,
Led Zeppelin I in 1969. They did the entire album in less than 20 days all while avoiding tax issues in their home country of The United Kingdom. On top of that part of the album was done in Malibu and the other part in Germany. Singer Robert Plant did his vocals from a wheel chair while he was recovering from a car crash. Most of the album was written and mixed by guitarist Jimmy Page which he explained in
“Nobody else really came up with song ideas. It was really up to me to come up with all the riffs, which is probably why [the songs were] guitar-heavy. But I don’t blame anybody. We were all kind of down.”

Honda Recalls Over 628,000 Vehicles, Including Top Selling CR-V | Talk Radio 105.9

Mar 31, 2021
Honda announced a recall of more than 628,00 vehicles due to a potentially faulty fuel pump. The carmaker said the rotating part of the pump, known as an impeller, could fail, causing the engine to stall.
"Affected vehicles may be equipped with a fuel pump module manufactured with low-density impellers. If the surface of a lower density impeller is exposed to production solvent drying for longer periods of time, higher levels of surface cracking may occur. These cracks may lead to excessive fuel absorption, resulting in impeller deformation,"
There have been no reports of crashes or injuries due to the issue.

Michigan Man Wins a 'Dundie Award' for the Worst Fake ID Photoshop Attempt [PICTURE] | 105.7 WAPL

A Michigan man just won a ‘
Dundie Award‘ for the worst attempt at creating a fake I.D.
Sure ‘
Jim’ from ‘
The Office’ looks like just an everyday, normal dude… unless you’re one of the millions of fans of the show or know what actor
John Krasinski looks like.  But that didn’t stop a Michigan man from using Krasinski’s picture to doctor his driver’s license in an attempt to fraudulently obtain unemployment benefits.
It didn’t work (apparently neither does the man).
The fake I.D. was quickly flagged, and the guy’s claim was denied.

Moving Violations: Wisconsin State Patrol Fines Man Using Camping Chair as Driver's Seat [PICTURE] | 105.7 WAPL

‘Driver’s Seat’ HERE)
While you’re all comfy in your heated/cooling, massaging, lumbar-supporting seats in your vehicles, there are some out there, traveling the highways and byways of Wisconsin where the struggle to find proper seating is real.
Wisconsin State Patrol stopped a pickup truck for an equipment violation, as the officer approached the vehicle he noticed that there were NO SEATS in the cab… well… except for the camping/tube chair that the driver was sitting on.
Along with the tweet the department included the section of the state vehicle standards law requiring seats to be securely fastened and include head restraints in line with the product specifications from the year the vehicle was manufactured.  Unfortunately Mesh Cupholders were not included in the law.
