Abandon Ship Bar team prepare to open Glasgow venue

If there’s one thing to be said for the team behind Abandon Ship, it’s that they certainly know how to stand out from the crowd.
From their beginnings as independent apparel retailers in the East End of Glasgow to the opening of their first bar in Dundee the brand's owners have cultivated quite the reputation thanks to their unique ethos which seeks to marry the worlds of art and hospitality.
When it comes to the eagerly anticipated opening of their new Glasgow venue, creative director Richard Davies tells us we should prepare to see more of their trademark flair than ever before.

Subnautica: Below Zero Review | Attack of the Fanboy

Subnautica is one of my all-time favorite games, and I absolutely loathe survival games. Unknown Worlds’ underwater survival/lowkey horror title won me over thanks to its smart balancing, beautiful yet frightening handcrafted world, and intriguing narrative. So, it should come as no surprise to anyone that I was immediately onboard with
Subnautica: Below Zero, the former-DLC-turned-sequel.
Below Zero has some tough fins to fill, since part of the first Subnautica’s magnetic charm was arguably created by how little we knew about the world we found ourselves in; of not knowing what illuminating or terrifying discovery awaited us. That first venture outside the Safe Shallows and into the waiting maw of a hungry Reaper leviathan was an eye-opening shock, one that’s difficult to replicate. Does Subnautica: Below Zero feel like a tired repeat of already established tricks, or is it capable of fabricating new thrills?

Glasgowist: Bowl, The Bull and the summer's best park plans reviewed

Bowl
There’s a new name for healthy convenience food in the city entre as Bowl opens on Renfield Street. Owner and chef Colin Campbell will bring a colourful range of superfood salads and global flavours along with customisable poke bowls with fresh Scottish fish and vegetables. You’ll also find coffee from local favourites Grain and Grind.
The idea was inspired by international food trends that are finding their way into the Glasgow culinary ecosystem. Colin says “I took my daughter to New York as a sixteenth birthday present and we were in a place called Sweetgreen.
"They prepared fantastic fresh salads from all kinds of ingredients. We ended up going back a couple of times and the concept stuck with me. I began to research it and realised there was a whole community built around this type of food.
