Nigerian Police Arrest Six Suspected Kidnappers In Delta, Recover Firearms, Others

The Nigeria Police Force, Delta State Command, has said that its operatives of a special squad deployed by the Commissioner of Police in the state, Abaniwonda Olufemi, have arrested six suspected kidnappers.   The command which made this known in a statement issued by its Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, on Friday, said that the police squad also rescued three kidnapped victims and recovered several firearms and ammunition.

British Monarch, King Charles To Resume Public Duties After Cancer Diagnosis

The Buckingham Palace said on Friday that the British Monarch, King Charles, will next week resume public duties after being diagnosed with cancer.   This is as the Monarch is said to be making good progress following treatment and a period of recuperation.   SaharaReporters reported in February that the palace revealed that the 75-year-old Monarch had been diagnosed with an unspecified form of cancer detected in tests after a corrective procedure for an enlarged prostate.

Tinubu Offers Fresh Appointment To Jim Ovia As Nigerian Education Loan Fund Chairman

President Bola Tinubu on Friday appointed Mr. Jim Ovia, a renowned banker and businessman, as the new Chairman of the Board of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND).   This was announced in a statement issued by Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, on Friday.     The statement read, “Mr. Ovia is the founder of one of Nigeria’s leading banks and a respected business leader, with a surfeit of efforts and beneficence towards nurturing and empowering young Nigerians.”
