Growth is too low but focus must be on price stability

Monetary policy should remain focused on price stability, Swiss National Bank Chairman Thomas Jordan said in remarks aired on Saturday. Speaking to national broadcaster SRF, he said economic growth and productivity are too low and many countries are running too much debt and excessive deficits. One of the most pressing challenges is insufficient growth, Jordan told SRF.

Canada's national broadcaster to cut 600 jobs over next year

CBC and Radio-Canada will each reduce about 250 jobs, while the remaining roles will be trimmed from the technology and infrastructure divisions. Vanuatu's President Nikenike Vurobaravu has been asked to dissolve parliament amid a political crisis in the Pacific Island nation, national broadcaster VBTC and the Vanuatu Daily Post newspaper reported on Friday.
