Bloomington man gets probation in June looting incident

BLOOMINGTON — A McLean County judge issued a probation sentence Friday for a Bloomington man involved with the June looting.
D’Angelo Glass, 20, was charged initially with burglary, mob action and looting, but the burglary and mob action charges were dismissed by the state, according to online court records.
Glass pleaded guilty to the looting that occurred June 1 at Kohl's. He was sentenced to 30 months of probation and given credit for the 103 days he spent in jail.
Judge William Yoder said Glass’ lack of criminal history, immediate acceptance of responsibility and strong showing of support from the defendant’s family and former educators were important factors.

Bloomington man gets 4.5 years for Normal looting

BLOOMINGTON — A Bloomington man was sentenced to 4½ years in prison for mob action related to the late May and early June looting in Normal and for unrelated 2019 charges.
Anthony Crose, 21, was charged in June with four counts of mob action for his involvement in the violence outside Target late May 31 and early June 1.
Three of those counts were dismissed by the state, according to online court records. Crose pleaded guilty to the offense as well as charges from May 2019 involving driving under the influence and resisting an officer.
According to the probable cause statement, Crose threw rocks and water bottles at Normal officers in the Target parking lot. Police do not believe Crose entered the store at any point to participate in the looting.
