Hurricane Epsilon Set To Hit Ireland

Tropical Storm Epsilon has become a hurricane as it moves towards Bermuda and away from the US. The storm has been battering the Southern States over the past few days. The hurricane is expected to turn in a North Easterly direction, setting it on a collision path with Ireland. If it follows its expected path, it will hook up with the Jet Stream and strengthen even further. The hope is that the hurricane will track in a North Westerly direction as it approaches Ireland but, at this stage, it is too early to tell what Hurricane Eplison's exact path will be.

jacksonville. we'll start to see the tornadoes throughout the day and they could cause structural damage. let's look at the wind fields. the tropical storm force winds extend 200 miles from the center of the storm. this storm is about 400 miles wide and the hurricane-force winds extend 60 to 65 miles from the center of the storm. the hurricane-force gusts. we think the closest approach to a landfall, remember landfall is the center coming onshore and the lowest pressure point. just a statistical matter. we like to look at the potential for landfall. the last time we had the cat 3 make landfall in north carolina was 1996. that was fran. it hasn't happened in a very long time. we do think the storm is going to weaken a little bit still bringing the same effects regardless if it's a 2 or 3. it doesn't matter. same effects. 5 to 8 foot storm surge. over a foot of rainfall possible and the battering winds and waves and beach erosion. so just a quick look here.
