Not only thunderstorms, but severe thunderstorms are likely as a line of showers and storms moves to the east. Damaging winds is the greatest threat with this not the flooding like we saw yesterday. Theres even a threat of one or two tornadoes in the area by the time the day is over. The highest risk of storms as you can see, is in our part of the country. Especially from the philadelphia area, north and west, most of our pennsylvania counties, included in all of this and extreme northwest delaware. Anywhere in that yellow area has a threat for severe storms during the day today. Were dry now. Early showers moved out, so there may be clouds around. But its not going to rain for quite a while. This is the activity thats going to be moving our way. Its going to be strengthening as it goes into the hotter and more humid air. Clouds have kept the temperatures down a bit. New this morning the governor of South Carolina expected to sign a bill today that will remove the Confederate Flag from the state capital grounds there. The South Carolina house of representatives passed a bill, that was after hours of emotional, sometimes tearful debate. Once Governor Haley signs the bill, the flag should come down within 24 hours. Haley and a lot of her fellow lawmakers are responding to calls from across the country to remove that flag after the racially motivated killing of black worshipers in charleston. At 1 30 this morning after a vote there, haley tweeted its a new day in South Carolina. Now a lot of folks seem to agree with her, there was a cartoon posted showing the flag and it said, going, going gone on that cartoon. Another person tweeted finally. One state, one flag. Efforts here on capitol hill to ban the Confederate Flag in federal cemeteries is proving controversial as well. The measure was added as an a
