>> and he said that it was about 45 minutes to come to that decision, and how do you react to that, bernardo, and what happens, and what do you think that the conversation sounded like in these deliberation rooms? >> well, i was surprised about the quickness of the verdict, and not the actual verdict itself, and having been a former homicide prosecutor myself, and i know the weaknesses and the strengths of the case, and not every investigation was perfect, and law and order of how a trial should take place, it is not reality. and so for the most part they had alec murdaugh comply, and it is a complete game changer throughout the process. because you want to hear the defendant and what he i had to say, did he do it or not do it, and when you are look at six weeks of testimony, and
most important people in the courtroom at this time that now have to digest all that information that's been given through the last six weeks. so a major reason why a judge doesn't allow a jury to take notes is because they want the jury to focus on the witnesses, focus on their demeanor, focus on what is being said and how it's being said because they are the judges of the facts, and they are to deliberate as to the credibility and believability of each of these witnesses. so that's why judges majority of the time do not want jurors to take notes, focus on what's being said in the courtroom. >> both you and bernardo brought up credibility here. one of the key facts of this case is that alex murdaugh lied for 20 months about the fact that he was at the murder scene not long before these murders were believed to have been committed. the defense made the case that he lied about it for so long because of drug use. how persuasive do you think that

when he called 911 alex murdaugh greeted police and investigators in shorts and a white t-shirt. that was at 10:07 p.m. prosecutors are laying the groundwork for he killed his family, washed up, changed clothes and called police. where are those clothes right now? that's a good question. they didn't discover this snapchat for many months after the murders. they haven't collected that clothing that he was wearing. victor, allison? >> randy, thank you for all that background. let's discuss with criminal defense attorney bernardo. i want to ask you about something that happened outside of the earshot of the jury. the cfo from his law firm was -- had confronted alex murdaugh
the report. and i want to bring in bernardo, here, with all of the five officers charged with almost identical charges, and what do you make of it? >> hmm. so as we can see, a penny for a pound, and the prosecution is seeking the same charges and will be probably seeking the same sentence for all five of the officers, but abby, i am waiting to see the release of the video and not just the video of the body-worn camera, but i want to see the other video, because the body-worn camera can only depending upon the camera itself give us a certain aspect, so i want to see the entire picture, but we need to brace for the worst. >> you are seeing now the mug shots for all five of the former officers booked into the shelby county jail. that is all of the time that we have for this, but we have much more to come on the story, and we are expecting it in about an hour an update on this case from the prosecutors in memphis,
