This is ia deadly crash. They are called for the coroner at the scene and we have a crew arriving as well. So this is going to be a major problem for you if you are in the area of gilroy, getting up to morgan hill and san jose. Itll impact the commute for hours. Northbound 101. If you are driving in the area i would suggest getting off the freeway and using side roads, perhaps monterey highway and road instead of highway 101. We are looking at some of the faraway commute, westbound 580 and 205, slow at tracy. We have an injury crash westbound 580 and that hasnt caused a big back up yet. Trucks, working to repair the highway here, after this fiery crash. Part of the highway, it looks like, was damaged. So theyve got the street sweepers and looks like crews out here. And looks like theyre doing some patchup work to the highway. So we dont know when this northbound part of 101 at Bailey Avenue will be reopened. But this all started 3 30 this morning. Thats when the crash was reported. And this was the dramatic scene the driver saw as they passed the four vehicles on fire. According to chp, it started with a single vehicle that spun out, hit the center divide. Three other cars crashed into it. One ignited and before long, all four vehicles were on fire on the freeway. We know one person was killed. At one point, firefighters and chp had to shut down all. Lanes of northbound 101, south of 85. Now, they have one lane open. I was just driving home from work. Man, i just saw a bunch of fire. And there was like three cars. And theyre just engulfed. It was a pretty bad accident

Lexington near exit 31 its rear driver side wheel somehow came off and went flying over the jersey barrier into the northbound side of the highway hitting the driver of this toyota camry. The front part of the car and windshield seem to be the point of impact. The driver a man was killed. Pickup was stopped in the highway several hundred yards past where the tire flew off. State police have the vehicle surrounded. The crash brings to mind a similar one that happened almost two years ago to the date also on 128 if you exit up the highway in burlington.
