A cookie caper was afoot on Friday in one Farmington second grade class as the FBI’s Salt Lake City field office paid a visit to Canyon Creek Elementary, thanks in part to one student’s determination. Last November, second grade student Uriah Mulwee and his peers were instructed in class to write letters of gratitude around Thanksgiving. Uriah decided to write his letter to the FBI to thank its agents for keeping his community safe and keeping dangerous criminals off the street.

Public Collections from Alberto Herraez Velazquez Alberto was born and raised in Salamanca, Spain and came to Utah several years ago on a scholarship to teach. He graduated from the University of Valladolid with a Bachelors in Education. After coming to Utah and starting his teaching careers, he was hungry for more learning. Mr. Herraez attended the University of Utah where he graduated with a Masters in Education from a participating school, the International University of La Rioja. He is currently pursuing another Masters focused on Technology and Instructional Design.
Currently, Alberto is teaching 6th grade at Canyon Creek Elementary School in Farmington where his students are part of the Spanish/English Immersion program. Alberto are heavy users of technology, and they enjoy sharing their passion with the students at Canyon Creek Elementary and with teachers around the world. His students are able to participate in STEAM by engaging in coding, robotics, podcasting, and maker space activities, just to name a few. When he is not in the classroom, you can find him traveling or enjoying outdoor activities like hiking, snowboarding, rock climbing, and kayaking.
