Australian actress Rachel Ward has lashed out at trolls behind a vicious and false viral rumour which claimed she and her husband Bryan Brown were the 'super-spreaders' behind the outbreak of a Covid-19 cluster on Sydney's Northern Beaches.
Ward posted to Instagram last night urging trolls to 'pick on another witch' as she and her husband were wrongly identified in online discussion as being the unnamed couple who failed to self-isolate in the Covid-riddled area.

Ward said she had been on the New South Wales mid-north coast for the past 10 days, did not have a personal trainer (as one tale had claimed) and nor had she been to the United States in over five years (as another account asserted).

A bizarre rumour that Australian acting royalty is behind the northern beaches outbreak has been quashed.
Baseless suggestions began surfacing online that Bryan Brown and his wife Rachel Ward inadvertently led to the surge in COVID cases after a personal training class at their home.
Ward took to social media on Monday night to scotch the rumours saying she hadn't been to the US for five years and was last in Sydney before the outbreak.
Anytime Fitness Avalon said online claims one of its trainers had headed to the couple's Whale Beach home was "in no way correct" and to "stop playing the blame game victimising innocent individuals and businesses".
