The most foolish thing I have read this year is the utterly ridiculous defence of the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr. Isa Pantami, by the Buhari Presidency.
That statement, by Garba Shehu, the ‘Any Government In Power’ former spokesman to a Peoples Democratic Party government, is only bested in its stupidity, by the August 2017 statement by the same shameless Garba, that the President was working from home after his over 100 days medical tourism to London, because ‘rats damaged his office’.
The idea that Pantami was a juvenile and did not know what he was doing between 2010 and 2015 is just the type of outlandish and Goebbelsian Taqiyya that we have come to expect from the Buhari regime. In 2014, the All Progressives Congress called for my arrest as one of President Jonathan’s spokesmen. Pantami is older than me.

The 2019 xenophobia attacks in South Africa, for which President Muhammadu Buhari visited South Africa on Thursday, October 3, 2019, was the defining proof that the rest of Africa needed to see, to convince them that Nigeria, under Muhammad Buhari, has become a paper tiger, whose bark is worse than its bite.
Come to think of it. How can Nigerians be attacked in unprovoked xenophobic outrage in South Africa, and it is the Nigerian President who goes to grovel to the South African leader, a neophyte, like Cyril Ramaphosa, nonetheless?
It beggars belief. Obasanjo would never have done that, and former President Jonathan did not do it.

Last week, a video surfaced in which a repentant herdsman, of Fulani origin, alleged that he and other bandits were given AK-47s by the present administration, so that they could kill Nigerian citizens.
The man swore to this, and said his years of training as an almajiri led him to reject the bandit lifestyle, hence his admission.
Almost a week since that video went viral, the Buhari administration, which is usually very quick to respond to anything involving people of Fulani ethnicity, has remained loudly silent.
Is there silence consent? Is it an admission of guilt? Are these bandits, who are now killing Nigerians in every state of the federation, people who were surreptitiously brought to Nigeria in the run-up to the 2015 Presidential elections, and primed to soak innocent âdogs and baboons in bloodâ in the event that Buhari did not win that election?

Sheikh Abubakar Mahmud Gumi was well known to Nigerians in the 70s and 80s as an extremist Izala Islamic cleric, who had attracted controversy for his views that only Muslims could best rule Nigeria, amongst other sectional views.
It might shock some Nigerians to note that that Sheikh Gumi once publicly called for Muslims to accept only Muslim political leaders (a view once publicly shared by President Muhammadu Buhari).
Sheikh Gumi was a strong Wahabbist and never hid the influence that Saudi Arabia had over him. I would not want to go too much into detail about some of the more outrageous and alarming views held by Sheikh Gumi, in order not to speak ill of the dead.

As a result of the threats that have been made by certain persons against Matthew Hassan Kukah, the Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, I find it necessary to refresh the memories of the belligerents, who sadly, are at the highest levels of certain faiths.
Their recent comments have shown that they do not know their history. If they did know their history, they would not have taken the approach that they took.
Much of the inability of persons who practice the three Abrahamic faiths of Judaism, Christianity and Islam to coexist is due to the fact that many of the adherents of these faiths do not really understand their religion and its history.
