BRAZIL - ECORODOVIAS (GAVIO GROUP) WINS AN IMPORTANT MOTORWAY CONCESSION
The ECO-153 Consortium, set up by the Gavio Group’s company Ecorodovias and GLP X, has won the tender for a 35-year motorway concession in the state of Goias. The tender, promoted by the National Land Transport Agency (ANTT) and the Ministry of Infrastructure, concerns an 850 km long motorway system from Anapolis in Goias to Alianca in Tocantins.
According to the press release issued by Ecorodovias, the contract is consistent with the Group's strategy to focus on its toll motorway concession business, strengthening its commitment to the sustainable growth of Brazil’s infrastructure. Considerable benefits are expected from the investment, which also includes the construction of a photovoltaic plant to supply energy, a modern WiFi road safety programme along the entire stretch, for communication between users and the customer service, as well as the creation of rest areas, with a final estimate of over 14,000 new jobs.

The Maryland Department of Transportation has received three proposals from teams composed of private sector firms interested in becoming the developer for major interstate improvement work.
Specifically, the firms are vying for responsibility to oversee predevelopment work on the American Legion Bridge and Interstate 270. The American Legion Bridge carries Interstate 495, known as the Capital Beltway, over the Potomac River between Montgomery County and Fairfax County, Va. I-270 is an auxiliary interstate linking I-495 in Montgomery County and I-70 in Frederick, Md.
MDOT’s plans include constructing a new American Legion Bridge and developing options for reducing traffic congestion along I-270. The projects are part of MDOT’s I-495 and I-270 Public-Private Partnership Program.
