A short time ago we ran into one of the people. Father. The five family members from new york city were stuck up on the Observation Deck and had to walk down. We were at the top of the monument. At that moment the park ranger came running around. We walked from the top to tt jay this is not the first time this has happened. Issues do happen but its terrible for folks who dont want to be stuck in an elevator. The monument will be closed until they figure out what is going on.
