Frontiers | Tilapia Lake Virus-Induced Neuroinflammation in Zebrafish: Microglia Activation and Sickness Behavior - Vimarsana News

Frontiers | Tilapia Lake Virus-Induced Neuroinflammation in Zebrafish: Microglia Activation and Sickness Behavior

In mammals, the relationship between the immune system and behavior is widely studied. In fish, however, the knowledge concerning the brain immune response and behavioral changes during brain viral infection is very limited. To further investigate this subject, we used the model of tilapia lake virus (TiLV) infection of zebrafish (Danio rerio), which was previously developed in our laboratory. We demonstrated that TiLV persists in the brain of adult zebrafish for at least 90 days, even when the virus is not detectable in other peripheral organs. The virions were found in the whole brain. Durin...

Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus vaccine based on a propagation-defective RNA replicon elicited sterilizing immunity in mice - Vimarsana News

Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus vaccine based on a propagation-defective RNA replicon elicited sterilizing immunity in mice

Coronaviruses (CoVs) have the largest genome among RNA viruses and a proofreading exoribonuclease (nsp14) responsible for high-fidelity RNA synthesis. These properties make CoVs very attractive for the establishment of vaccine platforms or viral vectors since they can stably store large amounts of information without genome integration. Using Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV) as a model, a propagation-deficient RNA replicon was generated by removing the envelope (E) gene (essential for viral morphogenesis and involved in virulence) and accessory genes 3, 4a, 4b, and 5 (re...

Prognostic Signature for Patients with Osteosarcoma - Vimarsana News

Prognostic Signature for Patients with Osteosarcoma

We used the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) datasets to explore the expression patterns of circRNA, miRNA, and mRNA in OSA.

Frontiers | Significant Difference of Immune Cell Fractions and Their Correlations With Differential Expression Genes in Parkinson's Disease - Vimarsana News

Frontiers | Significant Difference of Immune Cell Fractions and Their Correlations With Differential Expression Genes in Parkinson's Disease

Parkinson’s disease (PD) is the second most neurodegenerative disease in the world. T cell infiltration in the central nervous system (CNS) has provided insights that the peripheral immune cells participate in the pathogenesis of PD. However, the association between the peripheral immune system and CNS is remained to be elucidated. Here, we analyzed an incorporative substantial nigra expression data as well as another blood expression data using the CIBERSORT to obtain the 22 immune cells fraction and then explored the molecular function to identify the potential key immune cell types and ge...

Frontiers | Preexposure and Postexposure Prophylaxis of Rabies With Adeno-Associated Virus Expressing Virus-Neutralizing Antibody in Rodent Models - Vimarsana News

Frontiers | Preexposure and Postexposure Prophylaxis of Rabies With Adeno-Associated Virus Expressing Virus-Neutralizing Antibody in Rodent Models

Rabies, a fatal disease in humans and other mammals, is caused by the rabies virus (RABV), and it poses a public health threat in many parts of the world. Once symptoms of rabies appear, the mortality is near 100%. There is currently no effective treatment for rabies. In our study, two human-derived RABV-neutralizing antibodies (RVNA), CR57 and CR4098, were cloned into adeno-associated virus (AAV) vectors, and recombinant AAVs expressing RVNA were evaluated for postexposure prophylaxis after intrathecal injection into RABV-infected rats. At 4 days post-infection with a lethal dose of RABV, 60%...
