or so. he was previously at stanford. we don't know how long garber is going to be at the helm. harvard has not announced just when they are going to launch their search for a new president, but what is clear is that garber, they are stepping into a mess. they are going to face a tall task here, trying to clean up the situation and trying to fix the harvard brand, which has clearly taken a hit. the school has seen early applications drop. as i mentioned, donors have revolted. lawmakers are really strongly criticized the university, and you have a lot of parents and students and alumni who are worried about the future of this brand. this is not going to be an easy task. >> thank you so much. here with us now is harvard history professor, avery johnson. she's one of hundreds of professors who signed a letter urging harvard university to keep professor gay.
