〔即時新聞／綜合報導〕印度3月起爆發以變種病毒為主的第二波武漢肺炎（新型冠狀病毒病，COVID-19）疫情，5月底逐漸趨緩，但一名政府高階官員昨（9）日表示，第二波疫情尚未結束，人民應避免前往各景點，以免疫情惡化。
據《路透》報導，印度聯邦疫苗小組負責人保羅（Vinod Kumar Paul）昨日在記者會上表示：「這場疫情抗戰還沒有結束。」

報導指出，印度5月初達疫情高峰，單日確診數曾攀升至41萬，超過一半確診案例來自喀拉拉邦（Kerala）南部和馬哈拉施特拉邦（Maharashtra）西部，目前每日確診人數已經降低了9成。
報導指出，雖疫情有趨緩跡象，喀拉拉邦8日仍增加了1萬3772例確診數，並於過去三天內逐日增加。衛生部長警告，若無法遵守防疫規定，確診人數不會減少，但衛生專家表示，喀拉拉邦近期確診人數上升的原因可能是檢測與追蹤技術的進步，以往無法馬上追查到的案例，現在也能在第一時間追查到。
印度接種疫苗的速率有減緩的趨勢，目前僅有10%的人口接種了兩劑疫苗；本週平均每天施打370萬劑，與上週次數雷同。

ニューデリーの路上で間に合わせの火葬場が次々設置された代わりに、ジャカルタでは新しく掘った墓に埋葬するための遺体を積んだトラックが列をなしている。
しかし伝染病学者や医療専門家は、インドネシアはインドの教訓を全面的にくみ取っていないと苦言を呈している。
対照的にインドではコロナ危機の間、「ほぼ全て」の州・地域に、より厳格なロックダウンが実施されたことが、世界保健機関（ＷＨＯ）の分析で分かる。そうした措置は、インド連邦政府がロックダウン適用基準を陽性率１０％以上の地域と定めたことを受けたものだった。
そしてインドネシアでは今、３４州すべてで陽性率が１０％を超えている。ＷＨＯの定義では、陽性率が５％を超えると新型コロナウイルスの感染抑え込みができなくなっていることを意味する。
ＷＨＯが公表した最新のデータによると、６月２７日までの州にインドネシアのジャワ、バリ両島以外の１０州で新規感染者が倍増。ジャワ、バリ両島内でそこまで増えたのは２州だけだ。
スマトラ島リアウ州の伝染病学者イルワン・ムリャント氏は「このロックダウンをもっと早く行うべきだった。それもジャワ、バリ両島だけでなく全地域で」と語る。
ジョコ氏は、ロックダウンをジャワ、バリ両島に集中したのは閣僚や専門家、各自治体トップの意見を踏まえた結果だと説明。これまでの規制に比べて厳格な内容だと付け加えた。
別の伝染病学者パンデュ・リオノ氏は、人口密度が高いジャワ島ではより感染しやすいのは確かだと認める。それでも、今回のロックダウンは十分に強力とは言えず、規制が緩く何百万人もが帰省のために移動した５月１３－１４日の「イドゥル・フィトリ（ラマダン＝断食月の終わりを祝うイスラム教の祭日）」より前に、発動するのが筋だったとの見方を示した。
＜有言実行が鍵＞
ジャカルタの主要病院の１つで働く呼吸器科医のエルリナ・ブルハンさんは、施設が既に定員オーバーだと明かした。７人の収容を想定していた院内の緊急治療ゾーンに職員が無理やり１１人の患者を詰め込んでいて、「人々はひどいパニックに陥っている」という。
ジャカルタをはじめとするジャワ州の各病院の収容率は９０％ないしそれ以上の水準にある。ただイルワン氏は、周辺の医療体制はもっと脆弱だと指摘。「ジャワ、バリ両島以外に感染が広がれば、利用できる病床とＩＣＵの数が大きな問題になるというのがわれわれの懸念だ」と述べた。
インドネシア政府は検査態勢も急速に強化し、陽性率が低下するまで検査数を５倍にする方針を打ち出している。これが実現できれば、インドに比べて単位人口当たりの検査数が３分の１にすぎないという、ずっと抱えてきた懸案が解消される。政府は、接触追跡やワクチン接種でも野心的な目標を定めている。
リオノ氏はこうした取り組みはもちろん歓迎すると話しながらも「何事においても同じだが、要はきちんと実行することにある」とくぎを刺した。
