>> shepard: trace gallagher in los angeles. thank you. officials at apple say they are fixing on a fix for a software glitch that's apparently been killing a lot of people's iphone batteries. the problem first cropped up in the brand new iphone 4 s and has even spread to older models now. some people claim the phones don't last through a typical work day without a recharge. apple spokesman says the software fix is due in a couple of weeks. tech blogs are reporting that apple's new voice assistance service serrie has suffered sporadic outages today but my worked fine. no word from apple on that. big developments in the legal battle over solar panels. house republicans authorizing subpoenas to the white house over a company that somehow blew half a billion dollars of taxpayer money and went bankrupt. we are live with the latest on solyndra. plus, a lot of folks are in financial trouble these days, right? the bills just never stop. so do you cut spending or work hard to make your ends meet or do you fake your death?
