Vaccine Ingredient SM-102 Is Safe

Vaccine Ingredient SM-102 Is Safe
SciCheck Digest
The COVID-19 vaccine from Moderna uses an ingredient called SM-102 to deliver the mRNA that carries instructions for how to develop antibodies against the novel coronavirus. A widely shared video is now spreading the falsehood that SM-102 is harmful, but the warning label it shows is for chloroform, not SM-102.
How do we know vaccines are safe?

A very small number of severe allergic reactions, for example which are expected with any vaccine haveoccurred with some of the authorized COVID-19 vaccines. The CDC said the reaction – anaphylaxis – occurred in 2 to 5 people per million vaccinated. “When I came into office, the prior administration had contracted for not nearly enough vaccine to cover adults in America. We rectified that.”
During a March 2 news conference on the covid-19 pandemic, President Joe Biden claimed that former President Donald Trump’s administration did not ensure there would be enough vaccines for the American public.

Biden criticism of Trump's vaccine contracts too broad to be accurate

PolitiFact s ruling: Mostly False
Here s why: During a March 2 news conference on the COVID-19 pandemic, President Joe Biden claimed that former President Donald Trump’s administration did not ensure there would be enough vaccines for the American public.
When I came into office, the prior administration had contracted for not nearly enough vaccine to cover adults in America, said Biden. We rectified that.
Biden then announced he was using the Defense Production Act to facilitate a partnership between two competing drug companies: Merck had agreed to help manufacture the recently authorized Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
The move, he said, would accelerate the timeline for the availability of vaccines to the American public: We’re now on track to have enough vaccine supply for every adult in America by the end of May, he said, two months earlier than he had previously projected.  ....

Nothing will ever match that feeling when I stepped out on stage for the first time. As I paced back and forth in the green room with my guitar slung over my shoulder, making innocuous conversation about music with another performer, the sudden adrenaline rush caused a shakiness in my legs and voice. The notion that my legs just might fail me while I would be on stage only heightened my performance anxiety. To my surprise, walking up on stage and introducing myself would end up being the hardest part of that night because when it was time to perform, it was as if something came over me. My anxiety was replaced with comfort, and I found myself singing with more conviction and presence than I ever could in the comfort of my room. It was that cold January night when I realized that performing was my new passion.  ....
