Louth distillery owner raffles 5% stake in her €1.7m gin business

Listoke has also been making hand sanitiser since the start of the pandemic.
Ms Conlon said the business is currently exporting gin to Russia and is close to concluding a deal with a distributor in China for its gin and whiskey brands. Some of the cash raised from the raffle will be used to promote the brand in China, while it will also go towards a new €150,000 bottling line.
“It’s our way of thinking outside of the box and it hopefully will also raise the profile of Listoke,” said Ms Conlon, who works in the business with her husband and their two daughters.

Bidders vying to buy Dublin-based Valeo Foods, the owner of brands from Jacobs biscuits to Batchelors baked beans which is on the market for more than €1.7 billion, have been whittled down to a shortlist of three private-equity firms.
Paris-based PAI Partners, London-headquartered Cinven and Bain Capital, the Boston outfit co-founded by former US presidential candidate Mitt Romney, have been given until the end of May to submit final bids for Valeo, according to sources, confirming a recent report by deals publication Mergermarket.

Will Valeo Foods have any biters at £1.5bn?

By Edward Devlin2021-02-04T16:38:00+00:00
Reports indicate a £1.5bn price tag on Valeo Foods – but is the timing right for a sale?
Timing is everything. And CapVest may have picked the perfect moment to hire bankers to attempt a sale of Valeo Foods. Momentum is picking up in M&A activity, valuations are high, private equity is cash rich, debt markets are favourable and Covid has put the wind behind the sails of large consumer groups.
If reports are accurate, advisor Goldman Sachs is hoping to hang a €1.7bn (£1.5bn) price tag on the ambient food group behind brands as diverse as Kettle, Rowse, Jacob’s and Balconi.
