대통령 연봉 기부한 트럼프, 재임기간 자산수익 '2조' 훌쩍-국민일보

도널드 트럼프 전 미국 대통령이 재임 4년간 자산으로 2조7000억원을 번 것으로 파악됐다.
미국 경제 전문지 포브스는 증권거래위원회(SEC) 제출 보고서 등을 분석해 트럼프 전 대통령이 2017년 1월부터 지난해 12월까지 24억 달러(약 2조7648억원)의 수익을 올렸다고 19일(현지시간) 보도했다.
트럼프 전 대통령은 당선 전 대통령으로서 받는 연봉 40만 달러(세전 약 4억6000만원)를 기부하겠다고 밝힌 바 있었고, 실제 대부분을 기부한 것으로 알려졌다.
2조원 넘는 어마어마한 수익은 골프클럽과 부동산 등 자산에서 나왔다.

골프클럽은 4년간 9억4000만 달러(약 1조828억원)를 벌어줬다. 이 중 가장 ‘효자’로 꼽히는 ‘내셔널 도랄 골프클럽’으로 2억7000만 달러(약 3110억원) 수익을 냈다.
트럼프 전 대통령이 퇴임 후 머무는 플로리다주 마러라고 리조트와 올여름 보내고 있는 뉴저지 내셔널 골프클럽은 수익이 각각 9000만 달러(약 1036억원), 6000만 달러(약 691억원)였다.
포브스는 골프클럽 수익이 고스란히 트럼프 전 대통령의 수중에 떨어진 것은 아니라면서 골프클럽의 영업이익률은 높으면 20%라고 설명했다.
그는 부동산업자 출신답게 건물로도 꽤 수익을 낸 것으로 확인됐다.
캘리포니아주 샌프란시스코와 뉴욕주 뉴욕시 6번가의 사무실 등 트럼프 전 대통령이 지분을 보유한 상업용 부동산에선 4년간 7억8100만 달러(약 8997억원) 수익이 발생했다.

장기임대로 꼬박꼬박 임대료가 나오는 상업용 부동산은 코로나19가 확산한 지난해 트럼프 전 대통령의 수익을 올리는 데 특히 중요한 역할을 한 것으로 보인다.
이외에도 호텔과 라이센싱 사업은 4년간 4억6600만 달러(약 5368억원) 수익을 냈다.
다만 이 중 워싱턴DC 백악관 인근 ‘트럼프 인터내셔널 호텔’은 대출이자도 갚기 어려운 상황에서 코로나19에 타격까지 받아 매각이 추진된다.
포브스는 코로나19가 없었다면 트럼프 전 대통령의 수익은 더 많았을 것이라며 2017~2019년 연평균 수익이 6억5000만 달러(약 7488억원)였는데 지난해 연간수익은 4억5000만 달러(약 5184억원)였다고 덧붙였다.
