Oxford College Goes 'Woke,' Votes to Remove Painting of the Queen

One of Britain's top colleges has voted to go
"woke" by removing a painting of the Queen over claims the British monarch makes students feel
"unwelcome" because the Royal Family
"represents recent colonial history."
"absurd."
"Oxford University students removing a picture of the Queen is simply absurd," Gavin Williamson tweeted.
"She is the Head of State and a symbol of what is best about the UK.
"During her long reign she has worked tirelessly to promote British values of tolerance, inclusivity and respect around the world," he noted.
Members of the Middle Common Room (MCR) at Magdalen College - which is made up of graduates - passed the measure by a substantial majority.

Would the American student who cancelled the Queen have disrespected his own country like that?

Should we be surprised? Hell no!
This was always the risk of the corrosive narrative spread by Harry and Meghan’s diehard Yank supporters like Oprah Winfrey and Gayle King, who seem cravenly obsessed with linking the modern-day Royal Family to racism without any evidence to back up such claims.

Portrait Of Queen Elizabeth Removed From Oxford Due To 'Colonial History'

Portrait Of Queen Elizabeth Removed From Oxford Due To 'Colonial History'
Graduate students' decision to take down the photo of Queen Elizabeth drew outrage from some and cries of "cancel culture."
Graduate students at the University of Oxford have removed a portrait of Queen Elizabeth from their common area because of its ties to “colonial history,” prompting cries of “cancel culture” and headlines around the world.
Members of the Magdalen College Middle Common Room, or MCR, decided to take down the portrait during a committee meeting on Monday, according to the BBC. The outlet reported that the graduate students wanted to shelve the photo of the queen because “for some students, depictions of the monarch and the British monarchy represent recent colonial history.”

KCL issues apology to staff after including a photo of Prince Philip in an email
Free speech campaigners and MPs have criticised the complaints of staff regarding the Duke of Edinburgh’s “history of racist and sexist comments”
Following the Duke of Edinburgh’s death on April 9th, employees at King’s College London were sent an email bulletin with a photo of Prince Philip opening the university’s Maughan Library with the Queen in 2002. Prince Philip was appointed as the university’s Life Governor in 1995.
The photo was captioned: “As the nation marks the death of HRH Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, we thought you might like to see this photo of the Duke at the official opening of the Maughan Library in 2002, which some colleagues will remember.”
