A federal appeals court ruled late Wednesday that mifepristone will retain its FDA approval and remain available but with more limitations on how the medication can be dispensed. For now, the ruling blocks the pill from being sent in the mail and shortens the length of time mifepristone can be used during pregnancy from 10 weeks to 7 weeks. The U.S. Justice Department said it will ask the Supreme Court for an emergency order to pause the ruling from taking effect thus continuing the legal battle over access to mifepristone
