what is a human life worth now? >> reporter: days after our visit mexican army officials sent us this video from the back room of this small home. they seized 600,000 fentanyl pills. countless lives potentially saved. but the cartel-fueled production is seemingly endless and so, too, the devastation that awaits. where we are live this morning is a pretty significant part of the seizure process. out of all the fentanyl that is seized nationally in this country, more than half come from this district if in the san diego area. and let me show you this, kaitlin. this was from last week. it shows you how potent these busts could potentially be. 232 pounds of fentanyl were seized worth about $3 million. three people were arrested for bringing over. but this has the potential according to u.s. law enforcement to kill 50 million people. that's combining the populations

relationship with western allies. when the german chancellor visits at the white house later today i think we will see all of that in such clear focus. you are absolutely right that the last time that the two leaders met here in washington the invasion had not yet begun and over the last year we have seen the two leaders at the forefront of trying to figure out this new world of the ukraine war and sort of staying together and working together to keep the alliance of countries banded together to support ukraine. they don't always, though, it's worth pointing out, see eye to eye on everything in terms of how to hand the conflict it particularly when it comes to what kind of assistance germany should offer ukraine and how much. and so that is certainly expected to be a topic of discussion as well as they try to figure out, well, what is sort of the path forward as this war drags on and particularly if they are open to having discussions as well about how possibly this war can come to an end. kaitlin. >> yeah. major questions.
