They have confirmed two chp officers were transported to the hospital. We dont know the extent of their injuries. Right now, southbound 880 through hayward has been shut down. They begin to plan for the funeral of officer camilleri. I spoke to some people earlier. They say several people have been tasked from the department to plan the funeral. Theyll be meeting later this morning to finalize plans. In fact, captain from the napa chp division is here to help oversee the department so the Hayward Union can plan for logistics. I was likely told this is going to be a big funeral, as most are when an officer dies in the line of duty. It will be wellattended by Law Enforcement from across the country. As weve been reporting, officer camilleri was killed on Christmas Eve when he and his partner were parked on i880 in hayward, ironically looking for impaired drivers. Thats when they were hit from behind by a driver who allegedly was driving drunk and who was high on marijuana. Witnesses say that drive ....
