Sen. Tim Scott unleashed scathing critiques of President Joe Biden, House Democrats and several of his fellow Republican presidential candidates, saying “weakness” on the part of American leaders led to Hamas’ attack on Israel. In a speech at the Hudson Institute in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday afternoon, Scott called the terrorist attacks “disgusting” and called for the perpetrators to “feel the wrath of God.”

Interminable presidential campaigns, unlike the migraines they induce, are useful, as Vivek Ramaswamy is demonstrating. They provide ample opportunities for candidates to reveal whether they have sufficient seasoning for the daunting challenges of the office.

At the G.O.P. debate, the senator often faded into the background. “He was one that I wanted to hear more from,” one voter said as he sought to regain momentum in New Hampshire.

Both former S.C. Gov. Nikki Haley and U.S. Sen. Tim Scott are polling in the single digits nationally in the GOP race for president. Wednesday’s debate is an opportunity to have a break-out moment.
