prosecutor? >> i agree with that, 100%, trey, and what you said at the beginning i agree with. the number one job for government, federally is public safety. that has to do with the military, and locally it has to do with the police. we have a prosecutor who supports defunding the police. he supports defunding the l.a.p.d. he supports defunding the l.a. county sheriff's department. he supported a vote that is going to abolish and get rid of men's central jail, supports 0 dollar bail for most cases. he doesn't support fighting for victims and survivors. he refuses to meet victims. you being a prosecutor, you know this, he refuses to meet victims. refuses to meet survivors, refuses to meet the family members. he won't look at law. he won't look at evidence. he won't look at facts. as a prosecutor, that's all you have. and he's created blanket policies, and they're based upon a political agenda, and so he's really following a political agenda that he has.

at the l.a. county jail, inmates with the most severe psychiatric disorders are sent to a place next to men's central jail called twin towers. >> got him. wherever you want to sit, where there is not another person. twin towers was originally built to house maximum security inmates. but now it's filled almost entirely with mentally ill inmates. so most of these guys have a lot of severe conditions. we have a lot of restrictions on us. we can't take the cameras out because in the past cameras have set them off. with nearly 4,000 walking patients, the jail has become america's largest mental health institution. while the jail has an operating budget of almost $800 million, the cost at twin towers alone are astounding. the department spends about $70,000 a year per inmate, and nearly 2 million just on psychiatric medications.
