A strong earthquake has caused dozens of injuries and significant damage in napa, california, and the surrounding communities. Heres what we know right now. Governor jerry brown declared a state of emergency after the 6. 0 magnitude quake hit nine hours ago. It was at 3 20 a. M. Local time centered about six miles from napa and roughly 50 miles from San Francisco between two major fault systems. It struck just six miles deep which is why so many people felt it and at least 90 people have been hurt. Most of them have just minor injuries, cuts, laceration, bruises. But we do know at least three people suffered critical injuries including a child who was hit by a falling fireplace.
