Nestled on Kamala beach, the first-class beach club CafÃ© Del Mar recently joined hands with Tourism Authority of Thailand and business partners to revitalise Phuket's tourism scene by hosting the CafÃ© Del Mar Phuket Charity Festival.
This three-day exclusive event was presided over by Thapanee Kiatphaibool, deputy governor for tourism products and business at the Tourism Authority of Thailand, Suwat Liptapanlop, former deputy prime minister and Predee Daochai, former finance minister.
Supaluck Umpujh, owner of Café Del Mar, stated that tourism has played a major role in Thailand's economic restoration and also has an effect on the value chain in other relevant businesses. This is Thailand's strong point. Known as the Pearl of the Andaman, the coastal town of Phuket has become one of the top 10 tourist destinations in Asia. But now, the island has been affected by the drastic decrease of tourists due to the Covid-19 pandemic. So the authorities and private sector have joined forces to bring Phuket's tourism industry back to life again.
