TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Florida State track and field and field program had a strong first day at the FSU Relays at the Mike Long Track in Tallahassee, Fla. The Noles competed alongside the University of Georgia, the University of South Florida, Georgia Tech, Dartmouth, and Syracuse. We had a really strong first day. Megan in the hammer really set the tone for the day and secured a regional mark, and we had a really good end to the day in the women's 5000m. We can't wait to get back at it tomorrow, Head Coach Bob Braman said. Megan Cook set the tone and began the day by placing first in the hammer throw while throwing 61.25m, hitting a new personal record. The Noles went three-for-three in the throws as Amani Heaven and Milton Ingraham each picked up wins in the shot put. Heaven earned first place throwing for 15.36m while Ingraham posted a throw of 16.55m Jeremiah Davis placed first in the long jump, jumping for a distance of 7.46m. BLACKSBURG, Va. - Riley Ott was the lone FSU athlete to compete on day one of the ACC Indoor Championships in Blacksburg, Va., on the campus of Virginia Tech. Ott competed in four events as a part of the heptathlon on Thursday. Ott finished second in the 60m dash (7.04), sixth in the long jump (6.73m), eighth in the high jump (1.83m) and 11th in the shot put (10.96m). Ott is currently in seventh with 2,814 points. Ott will finish the heptathlon with the 60m hurdles, the pole vault and the 1000m run. The 60m hurdles will begin at 10 a.m. The rest of the Noles will begin action at 12:45 p.m. Streaming information Fans will be able to follow the Noles on ACC Network Extra and ACC Network throughout the weekend. FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Trey Cunningham and Lauren Ryan each recorded record-breaking performances on Friday to lead the Florida State track and field team on the first day of the Tyson Invitational and the David Hemery Valentine Invite in Fayetteville, Ark., and Boston, Mass. We had some incredible highlights today. What Trey and Lauren did today is a once in a lifetime chance, Head Coach Bob Braman said. It was great to have Jovaughn and Isaac back. DaeQwan [Butler] and Ka'Tia [Seymour] each had really good days for us, and they will be an important piece at ACC Championships in two weeks. Cunningham continues to have a record-breaking season in the 60m hurdles. Cunningham won the event with a 7.42 time which broke his own school record and the ACC record. LUBBOCK, Texas - The No. 13/26 Florida State track and field teams wrapped up competition at the Texas Tech Open and the Bob Pollock Meet on Saturday. The Noles once again tallied several top 10 performances and personal bests. Bob Pollock Meet The distance crews shined once again on Saturday at the Bob Pollock Meet on Saturday afternoon. Adriaan Wildschutt broke the school record in the 3000m run with a time 7:52.80 breaking the previous record of 7:53.97 held by Luke Gunn in 2008. Right behind Wildschutt was Ahmed Muhumed who clocked in the third-fastest time in FSU history at 7:54.66. In the women’s 3000m, it was Lauren Ryan cruising to victory with a facility record time of 9:07.19. Alyson Churchill followed closely behind with a time of 9:09.73 which also broke the facility record. Maudie Skyring (9:21.08) and Amanda Beach (9:27.28) finished fifth and sixth, while Rebecca Clark (9:39.01) and Elizabeth Funderburk (9:40.04) finished ninth and tenth.
