College class unlocks history of Marble Falls founder

The Falls on the Colorado Museum is partnering with the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) of Texas Tech University to present a class on “Adam R. Johnson and the Founding of Marble Falls.” Instructor Ron Nicholas, who is on the board of directors for The Falls on the Colorado Museum, will share his passion for Central Texas history in leading this class that takes students from Johnson to “that other Johnson,” the late U.S. President who grew up just 15 miles south.

Ronald Nicholas found dead near Brady's Lake after 17-day search

Ronald Nicholas, the 72-year-old grandfather and outdoorsman missing from Lackawanna County, was found dead near Brady's Lake Sunday morning, Pocono Mountain Regional Police said.
Sunday's announcement concludes a 17-day search that enlisted the help of helicopters, search dogs, fire fighters and police officers and was punctuated by moments of hope.
Nicholas spent Easter with his family before returning home April 5. Days passed, and his family didn't hear from him again, said his son, Aaron Nicholas. They reported him missing April 8.
"He's usually pretty savvy at putting hearts and stars on all the grandkid photos that we post on a family thread," Aaron said. "We hadn't seen anything."

Pennsylvania Acting Health Secretary Alison Beam says today is a key day in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.
"All Pennsylvanians 16 and older will be eligible to schedule a vaccine appointment," Beam says. That's almost a week sooner than the previously scheduled date of Monday, April 19th. The state hopes moving the eligibility date ahead will help it get to its goal of getting 80-percent of eligible adults vaccinated faster.
Pennsylvania is sending mobile COVID-19 vaccine clinics to minority communities. The state is partnering with the Latino Connection and Highmark Blue Shield. Officials say in order to solve health care inequality and reach our vulnerable and underserved communities, we need to meet people where they are. Over the next few months, about 120 mobile vaccination events will take place across the state with educational materials given out to battle vaccine hesitancy. Pennsylvanians can start registering for an upcoming mobile vaccine clinic next week online at www.catemobileunit.com.

MONROE COUNTY, Pa. — Authorities say the search for a missing Clifton Township man is expanding: family says Ron Nicholas, 72, was last seen about a week ago. Fishers found Nicholas‘s truck yesterday morning at Bradys Lake in Monroe County.
Family members are now worried that Nicolas might be in danger after nearly a week without his medications.
Sandra Snyder, one of Nicholas’s four children, was with a small group of friends and family at the search site on Sunday.
