road. many of them snowplows, emergency crews. even in the middle of all this, they are trying to get some of these roads plowed. here comes a snow plow right here going south on atlantic avenue. and they have been plowing side streets throughout this area of atlantic city. so they are trying to get ahead of some of the conditions so people can get out on the road once the snow stops. but again, if you see this vehicle traffic here on atlantic avenue, this is something that governor phil murphy and the mayor have told people just don't do this. do not venture out. we're still told by city officials that people are getting stuck on the roads. trying to come out and do stuff like this. so, again, they are telling people do not venture out. sit this one out today at least for the next few hours. we have had some good news in the last hour or so. we've been told that route 40 which is a main artery into and out of atlantic city, that had been shut down a few hours ago because of flooding there. again, this is a barrier island,
walked past us down this way. now, over here, there's a snowdrift i showed you a short time ago. these guys are trying to -- they just fired up a snowblower, and they're trying to clear a path to this hotel driveway -- excuse me, so someone can get out. i don't know how anyone is going to get out of this. the snow has been coming down for 12 hours. it's coming down mere, blizzard warning in effect for another eight hours. and more than a foot of snow is expected. but it's really not the accumulation that is the issue. it is this wind. it is high tide, as of 3 1/2 hours ago. and that's causing flooding. we're told a short time ago, route 40, a key artery in and out of new york city is closed because of high tide. it is the three forces, high wind and whipping snow, accumulation, but it's also a tidal situation. atlantic city is a barrier
news to report. one of the main arteries in this city, route 40, which goes in and out of atlantic city, that had to be shut down a few hours ago because of flooding. that has since reopened. so that is good news. as you can see, the wind speed here has really varied and sometimes it really kicks up and you can barely see in front of you. but sometimes it will slow down a little bit. again, with some of this, the governor and other officials here are telling people, as a matter of fact governor murphy just said a short time ago, folks, sit this one out, stay inside, do not venture outside. but still i'm kind of incredulous, this is one of the main drags here in atlantic city. a lot of vehicles out here this morning. and again, if you look down here, visibility is just nothing. so it really is treacherous to try to get out. we are still told by city officials though that people are venturing out and they are getting stuck. so one of the problems with that of course is that when you call 911 and you are stuck, it can be

this bay behind me, we are on the west side of the barrier island that atlantic city is situated on. this bay right here presented a danger earlier today with high tide and possible storm surge and flooding. there was some flooding in the spot where i am now, and we're going to pan over to show you where that occurred. that is route 40. we're at the corner of west end avenue and north albany avenue. north albany avenue turns into route 40. this whole area, we see the snowplow over there, and this snowplow over here, this was shut down earlier today. it has since reopened. it was shut down because if you see right where that truck is turning in, coming toward us, this whole intersection, this whole area was flooded. so that was because of high tide at 4:30 a.m. it was flooded for a few hours after that. they had to shut down this road. this is a main artery into atlantic city. good news is this has since reopened, so you see the plows at work, even though we're in
still segregated and that is been confirmed by the then head of the naacp and delaware at that time in wilmington. and then additionally, he said not marching common with the route 40 movement which had sit ins which he was was a part of that he was very much a part of the civil rights movement and then of course we do note regarding racial injustice joe biden has been very involved in that throughout his political career. >> shannon: i will get to the answers from you guys in the next couple of topics because i want -- the exchange with peter about these overnight flights. >> why is the administration flying thousands of migrants from the border to florida and new york in the middle of the night? >> i'm not sure it's in the middle of the night. but let me tell you what is happening here. >> very early in the morning. >> early flights. earlier than you might like to take a flight. it is our legal responsibility

out of all of these because this gets into an issue of appropriation and you are talking about -- he claims specifically that he was involved in the sit ins along route 40 at segregated restaurants. s and the people who were involved, these are very serious activists, these were, this grew out of the freedom writers movement had these were well-trained individuals who were doing these sit ins and they put their -- they risked going to prison. a lot of them to go to prison. they put, in some cases, their lives at risk. there were those three young men in mississippi who were civil rights activists who were killed around the same time. they were registering black voters. and, so, you have biden makingdd these claims, he is taking credit for this without taking any of the risks. >> tucker: are those claims true? was biden a leader at these sit ins? is there any evidence of that? >> there is no evidence of that. i've spoken to local activists
