in west virginia the governor democrat joe manchin has won his state senate seat. it was vacated by the death of robert byrd and the conservative wisdom in west virginia is manchin won because he effectively distanced himself from president obama. listen to this. apparently we don't have that sound. the other memorable part of joe manchin and his campaign, he had this incredible ad in which he takes a rifle and shoots a hole in cap and trade bill. that and, of course, let's go back to our panel. he did an amazing turn around on healthcare earlier in the year. he said he would have voted for the healthcare bill, and then he told fox news fairly recently, "well, i wouldn't have voted for the final passage." gut -- but he got away.
