Number of papers published on astrobiology increased 10 times, and the two pick report that cited astrobiology increased 25 times. Astrobiology is a serious subject studied i serious scientists around the world. Reflecting this interest, next september, the library of congress and nasa will hold a twoday astrobiology symposium on what the societal impacts could be of finding microbial, complex, or intelligent life in the universe. Whether life exists on other planets continues to be a matter of debate amongst scientists. Around the world, number of astronomers listen to naturally occurring radio frequencies. They try to filter out the cosmic noise and interference of human made satellites and spacecraft to find anomalies that could be signals from civilizations elsewhere. At the citye array institute of finance by microsoft cofounder paul allen and the telescope in puerto rico are two wellknown locations for conducting radio astronomy searches for life in the universe. Astronomers have ....

CSPAN Mission Of The International Space Station July 4, 2014

Memberse have six crew appear, three russians, two americans and one german. Mostly, what we do up here is science. We have 170 experiments going on right now. We have to maintain the station and keep it running smoothly and efficiently. With the experience express your conducting, what categories to the following to and why does need to be conducted in an atmosphere such as your . Rs . We are looking for dark energy and dark matter. It is something were try to figure out, just the basic physics of how our universe came to be. From that we go all the way to human research, other bodies. How do we change in the microgravity environment . Specifically, our eyes and muscles and bones. We have applications for people on earth with diseases. We can see it at a more rapid pace appear. Thingsa here is that change enough that people can pieces orw different objectives change in this microgravity environment. It is different than on earth and it gives another data set to look at and compare to. ....

Correct. This is how certain he was for these ideas. But thats just one example. When it comes to cosmology and the big bang, we can use the equation to make predictions for how much residual heat should be left over from the big bang today, socalled cosmic microwave Background Radiation. And make predictions on how the temperature of the heat should vary from one location in space to another. And do measurements and measurements agree with the theoretical prediction to fantastic accuracy and that is breathtaking confirmation mathematics is not just speculation, the math is actually aligning with how the world works. Give me an example of that measurement of the cosmic Background Radiation . They go to the north pole or south pole . There are many ways to access it. You can access it through satelliteborne telescopes such as wilkinson

Period. The are russians have flown ons. Several yearlong missions. Its but if we look at the tools wih weve got today we can see if ht theres anything in the human system, to see if there is that something that degrades that hasnt reached study grade in terms of human degradation in keeping humans alive. How important is it to simulate a mars mission in lower earth orbit that way, and how close do you have to make it to a real mars mission to be a ma value . Do you build i n the to communication delay, do you block the windows, so they dont get to look at earth . How do you design Something Like that . Its interesting, we talked o about that. We do some things now, we do o were doing a lot of procedures, now aboard the station that are autonomous. Where the crews do the operatioe without any ground involvement. That was geared specifically do towards the mars environment where the time delay doesnt it. Allow the ground team to oe ....

On a space station . Good question. Well, i did go to work for nasa which was a big help for me. I decided being an astronaut was a goal. Really what i also work on was aircraft control systems. Thats where my main work at nasa was on. That could play into working on the shuttle, also helping out. I just got lucky in the selection process. Thats really there are so many qualified people who try to be astronauts. It takes a little bit of luck just to get in. I just happened to get a little lucky. Had all the requirements needed and just a little bit of luck and i made it. So commander, in about 30 seconds tell us about the best experience youve had onboard the space station itself. Well, the best experience is, well always looking out window and the best way to look out the window is not having a window in front of you, thats going on a spacewalk. Thats probably the best experience. Its a fantastic feeling. It is a little pressure on you at the same time but, boy, its quite an experienc ....
