things are different stylistically with president trump at the nato meeting. >> sara murray live for us at the vatican. should be interesting. in particular look at angela merkel the german leader who the president will meet with and then president obama will give a speech the following day in berlin. look at those two days for angela merkel and not just the optics of it but that dramatic shift as well. so for the first time a u.s. official is publicly citing direct knowledge of communications between the trump campaign and russia. former cia director john brennan telling a house panel russia quote brazenly interfered in u.s. elections going so far to contact members of trump campaign. but he stopped short calling it collusion saying it raised questions. >> president trump is now expected to hire a private attorney to handle matters related to the russian probe.

>> i think you were just going to assay torture. this was something we didn't hear come up as well. >> reporter: yes, exactly. that has been something that the president focus on yesterday and that there has been a lot of very intense reaction from republicans here. you saw paul ryan say very definitively torture is not legal and we think it should stay that way. so trump steered clear of that on the stage here, which i think we will seen as a positive move from a lot of these republicans. he did of course talk about and you mentioned that visit from the mexican president, pena nieto and its cancellations. he of course kags it as a decision that was made joently. that's not how the mexican president had characterized it earlier in the day in announcing that cancellation. so that is a topic that came up. but i do think, you know, stylistically, craig, we had a really kind of fascinating display of how donald trump is going to interact with lawmakers who are used to everything being very formal. i mean, these are men who use
democrats and going forward if he doesn't retreat into the solitude and silence of the speaking tour that is a conventional post-presidency and remains a public face for the democratic party? that has massive implications for where the democrats go next. >> he will have a big role no matter what happens in the future of the democratic party, whether it's an endorsement, whether it's a guidance. this speech was a blueprint forward. but he was also a call to unity, a call to come together, and while heme did take some failed swipes it president-elect. he also said this is a smooth transition that will i happen. he pledged to do it just like george w. bush did for him. >> tucker: i think that was theha part where the audience booed. >> they definitely did. throughout america and maybe some of those days that didn't vote for hillary clinton they were happy to hear them say that. >> tucker: stylistically, and it really also context, could
