Verbandschef Mike Hawes sagte, dass bei einigen Zulieferern bis zu 30 Prozent der Arbeiter fehlten, weil sie wegen Kontakts mit Corona-Infizierten zu Hause bleiben müssten. Diese «Pingdemie» - wie das Phänomen in Großbritannien wegen des «Anpingens» der Corona-Warn-App genannt wird - hat die gesamte Wirtschaft zuletzt hart getroffen. Teilweise blieben Supermärkte leer, Mülltonnen wurden nicht geleert, Busse und Bahnen blieben stehen.
