Lets check were following breaking involving a Norfolk Southern train. Our affiliate station, in upstate new york, derailed, prompting nearby evacuations and shelterinplace orders. The derailment happened around 11 30 last night in the town of ripley in chautauqua county. Thats near the so far, there are no reports of injuries. Officials told our affiliate station, wgrz, 18 cars came off the tracks. These are pictures of First Responders working the scene. Investigators are trying to figure out how the accident happened.
