Raritan, N.J.: After Superstorm Sandy ravaged parts of New York and New Jersey, Congress held a vote on a $50 billion aid bill. Dozens of aid packages had been handed out for previous disasters, mostly for states like Florida, Alabama, Louisiana, Texas and the southern states along the East Coast.

Raritan, N.J.: As I stated in a previous letter, I make it a point to watch as much Fox News as I can take to see how they cover stories as compared to other networks. After the testimony from Mark Meadows aide Cassidy Hutchinson, Fox was in all-out Donald Trump defense mode. Perhaps they haven’t gotten the memo that most sane Republican legislators are done with Trump.

Manhattan: Regarding “Highest rents ever” (June 10), let’s add this: The New York State Division of Housing and Community Renewal (DHCR) has the job of upholding rent regulation laws, but they fail miserably to do so. NYC has lost tens of thousands of rent-controlled and rent-regulated apartments in recent years as landlords illegally make them market-rate.
