TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — New Jersey officials are cracking down on unauthorized use of swimming holes in several places in the New Jersey Pinelands heading into the holiday weekend that marks the unofficial beginning of the summer season.
Social media users in search of “blue hole” swimming have helped drive an “unprecedented” number of people to once-hidden spots so named because of the deep color of the water in some New Jersey Pinelands locations associated with old quarries, The Philadelphia Inquirer reported.
There are no lifeguards at the swimming holes, which can be 50 to 100 feet deep in some areas, and several have seen drownings over the years, the paper said.

WINSLOW, Wash. (AP) — Authorities say three teenagers were killed in a vehicle crash on Bainbridge Island, Washington.
The Kitsap Sun reports the vehicle they were driving in Tuesday evening went off the roadway, struck several trees and rolled over.
The three occupants, identified by the Bainbridge Police Department as Bainbridge High School students, were pronounced dead at the scene.
“Initial investigation indicates that speed was most likely a factor leading to the collision,” the department said.

McCormack Building Supply To Reopen Original Location This Summer

McCormack Building Supply To Reopen Original Location This Summer
It has been a rough couple of years for the crew at McCormack Building Supply in Winslow.  In October of 2019, they suffered a devastating fire.
No one was injured in the blaze, which tore through the business and caused so much smoke that it could be seen from downtown Augusta.
Thanks to the help of the community, the business quickly got back on its feet.  Within a few days, they were operating from a spot next to Pleau's Market.  In fact, they never really "closed".  The fire occurred on Friday, October 11th.  They were open for business on Monday, October 14th.
