classroom, surrounded by memories of their son. >> he loved school. he loved sports. he starred in the musical. zak was such a stellar young man. he always wanted to help other people. >> zach's sudden death unnaturally mistreat investigators. but the plaster county corner near sacramento had two theories on the davis debt, either an undetected medical issue or fentanyl. >> that further spiraled us into confusion. >> debilitating confusion, why would you say that word? we had no red flags of zach having struggles with any kind of addiction or depression. >> nine out of every ten overdose deaths in teenagers involves opioids. most commonly, it involves fentanyl. >> doctor scott haviland's head of adolescents and young adult medicine at boston's mask general for children's hospital.
where they are somehow safe from this epidemic, really? >> that's exactly right. i mean, we as co-parents, my accent i, were very plugged in with our kids. zak was our youngest of three. we had every drug conversation with him that we knew about, around other substances. that he might be exposed to is a high school student. he was not struggling with any kind of substance use disorder. he was living an incredible life, just a wonderful young man. and we just couldn't have foreseen this for him. from the time he had first decided to experiment with what was sold to him as a purpose at pill, until the time he passed away, it was a 48-hour timeframe. parents certainly see red flags and that amount of time. he tried one pill on christmas
information out there and finding out what is going on in the streets of america. it took too long for us to figure out what a crisis this was. >> yeah, and i do want to talk about what else can be done at the border. nick, first, i want you to explain why -- how this works. because that story, laura just interviewed the woman, laura, zak was this ideal kid. he ordered on snapchat, he message on snapchat and got a percocet pill, which is actually fentanyl. i don't understand why our dealers disguising fentanyl as a percocet bill? how does it help their business to kill teenagers the first time or second time they try? that does not seem like a good business model. why are they disguising it as these other things? >> well, they're not killing all of the drug users who take these pills. but the pills are extremely dangerous. and the reason they're doing it is profits and greed. the price of these fentanyl
now, a softer tone. roll went from horrible to a bad decision. words 100% pro-life removed from the section. that list of positions is short of. >> there is no getting around it that abortion in his particular race is a hot issue for one of those swing coalitions. he has to speak to that issue. being pro-life 100% of the time is not going to get him there. he has to attempt to make that pivot. >> masters's campaign said he remains 100% pro-life, but he's not the only one -- >> >> in michigan -- challenger thom barrett fundraising with the republican primary as 100% pro-life. no exceptions. but over the weekend, his website had listed value section to protect life from conception is now gone. barrett's campaign tells cnn we regularly update the website. >> should all abortions be illegal in this country? >> in iowa's republican primary to represent the third congressional districts. >> all abortions, no exceptions. >> the man in the center, zak won the republican nomination. the incumbent, democratic congresswoman cindy --

platform, whether it is this or others, can be abused. >> the real issue here, alex, is that too many people at twitter, thousands of employees, have access to some of the platforms critical controls. >> and donie, the whistleblower -- also saying that some of twitter's most senior executives have tried to cover up the company's most serious about abilities. what is twitter saying in response to this reporter? >> twitter is pushing back hard against these allegations, i will show you a part of their statement that they put out. they said that there is a narrative being pushed by zach about our privacy security practices that is riddled with inconsistencies and inaccuracies. they are making these statements, but we send them more than 50 questions over the weekend in relation to this disclosure. and a lot of the questions that matter, they do not give a specifics. >> and donie, zak was working at twitter on january six 2021, one of course the insurrection
bureaucratic technicality. all the while he and his family were engraved danger. zak was being threatened by the taliban over his work with the united states. they called him an infidel and a traitor. i spoke to zach last year. his face, his identity, veiled. he told me about the threats that he faced from the taliban as he was trying to get out of afghanistan. >> the taliban -- are house because they are looking for the people who has worked, people who have done the work with the u.s. forces and they are looking for them to be targeted and killed them. >> zak told me later that he thought that interview that he did with me might be his last. during his time as an interpreter, zach made a lifelong friend of marine lieutenant tom schuman. the two were signed to an area helmand province, one of the most dangerous areas of all of afghanistan. they literally walked in each other's footsteps to avoid
stepping on improvised explosive devices. zach wrist his life for tom and schuman, now a marine major, was determined to pay him back for service. major schuman wrote letters to the white house, appealed on social media, and took days and intense effort while being incurred sourcing the attack in his family out of afghanistan. major schuman spoke to rachel maddow last year when he found out that all of this hard work paid off. >> we pulled every letter, poked everywhere, it was just this series of hail mary's. there are so many close calls and so many moments where i thought, maybe we contacted the right person, maybe we had the right solution to this. it was a series of tragic events. >> it wasn't easy, but back in his family are now in the united states and have been here for almost a year. i had the honor of speaking with dak and major schuman last week. zak explain the moment he
