For the past two days, on an hourly basis, the attacks on Israel from Hamas-controlled Gaza and the attacks on Israeli Jews by Israeli Arabs grow worse. What on Sunday was a story limited to Arab violence against Jews and Israeli police in three main focal points in Jerusalem, as well as a few dozen rocket launches against southern Israel from Hamas-controlled Gaza, had by Tuesday night been transformed into a full-on war.
By Wednesday, Hamas had launched more than 1,000 rockets, mortars and missiles at southern and central Israel including 137 launched toward the south in just a five-minute span on Tuesday, and a hundred rockets lobbed toward central Israel in just over an hour on Tuesday night. By midnight between Tuesday and Wednesday, three Israeli women had been killed by rocket attack ....

(May 11, 2021 / JNS) Throughout the month of Ramadan, the Fatah-controlled Palestinian Authority and Hamas have been inciting Arab Israelis in Jerusalem and throughout the country to attack Jews. And so it happened that at the outset of the month, Jews in Jerusalem, Jaffa and beyond found themselves beset by gangs of Arab thugs who beat them on the streets and light-rail cars just because they were Jews.
Last week, Hamas’s leaders announced their detailed plans to open a new campaign against Israel on May 9. May 9 was a conflation of three events: Jerusalem Day Israel’s national holiday celebrating the unification of Jerusalem in 1967; The holiest day to Muslims of the month of Ramadan; and Iran’s own Jerusalem Day, whose purpose is to call for the destruction of Israel and end Jewish rule in Jerusalem. ....

Israel reopens Gaza fishing zone after quiet night on the border

Israel announced on Thursday it was fully reopening the Gaza fishing zone after three days of closure, following a relatively calm night along the border.
Israel’s military liaison to the Palestinians known formally as the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) said the fishing zone would be opened to its full 15 nautical mile (27.8 kilometer) limit.
“The return of this civilian policy toward the Gaza Strip is conditional upon continued calm and security stability,” COGAT said in a statement.
Israel announced it was closing the fishing zone on Monday morning following days of attacks from the Strip in which dozens of rockets and mortar shells were fired at southern Israel. ....

After 3rd straight night of rocket attacks, Israel closes Gaza fishing zone

Israel fully closed the Gaza fishing zone on Monday morning, forbidding Palestinians from sailing off the coast of the beleaguered enclave, after terrorists in the Strip launched five rockets toward southern Israel overnight.
It was the third straight night of rocket attacks from Gaza, raising the specter of wider conflict in the restive region.
The closing of the fishing zone appeared to be Israel’s sole retaliation to the rocket attacks, with the Israel Defense Forces refraining from conducting airstrikes on the Hamas terror group in the Strip its usual response to rocket fire. ....
