SBI Education loan interest rate in India has been reduced for students who are planning to study abroad. The State Bank of India (SBI) is providing concessions in the interest rates. Here is a look at a few schemes.
SBI Student Loan Scheme: Students can take upto Rs 7.5 lakh from SBI at an interest rate of 9.30 per cent. The Marginal Cost of Funds Based Lending Rate (MCLR), which is considered as the lowest rate of interest offered by the bank, would be 7.30 per cent. Female students can get a concession of 0.50 per cent.

New Delhi, Feb 7 (IANS): With a focus on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's ambitious 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat' programme, the National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) through its High Speed Railways Innovation Centre (HSRIC) trust has partnered with the Indian Institute of Technology (IITs) and Indian Institute of Science (IISC) to develop 'Made in India' techniques for the Bullet train projects.
An NHSRCL official related to the development told IANS that the HSRIC trust is managed by a board of trustees chaired by NHSRCL Managing Director and supported by Executive Council.

JEE Main 2021: 75% Eligibility Criteria Removed, Says Education Minister

Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ announced relaxation in admission criteria for NITs, IIITs, SPAs and centrally funded technical institutions (CFTIs) by waiving off requirement of 75 per cent marks in Class 12.

Earlier, only students who scored a minimum 75 per cent marks in the Class 12 board exams or in their qualifying examinations were eligible for admission to BE / BTech / BArch / BPlanning courses in NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs.
"Considering the decision taken for IIT JEE (Advanced) and in line with the decision taken for the last academic year, it has been decided to waive off the 75% marks (in class 12 exam) eligibility criteria under Joint Entrance Examination (Main) for the next academic year 2021-2022 in respect of NITs, IIITs, SPAs and other CFTIs, whose admissions are based on JEE (Main)," Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal tweeted.

JEE Main 2021: In a relief for the students applying for engineering courses this year, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has come out with an extension of the last date to apply for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main in 2021. The last date for filling online applications was January 16 but it has been extended and the last date to apply for JEE Main 2021 is now January 24.

IIT placements: First phase sees surge in offers, most from Asian countries; rise in new recruiters

Most IITs have also witnessed a rise in domestic recruiters and an increase in compensation. More than 753 offers have been made in the first 10 days of the placement at IIT Madras.
However, there has been a decline in the number of international offers, said both IIT-Madras and Kanpur. “Last year, 23 international profiles were offered, and this year 19 international offers were extended to the students,” said IIT Kanpur’s chairman. For IIT-Roorkee, the number of international offers from Asian countries has fairly increased. For IIT-Hyderabad, Japan and Taiwan were prominent recruiters.
Meanwhile, there has been an increase in new recruiters. Over 50 new firms participated for the first time in IIT-Kanpur’s placement, over 53 at IIT-Madras. These are mainly software-based start-ups. The most promising sector was coding/software firms followed by core firms. “We are expecting educational institutions to participate in phase 2 placements,” said Prof CS Shankar Ram from IIT-Madras.
